How Do You Celebrate And Honor The Women In Your Life?

A Challenge For International Women's Day 2025

Today is a day about Celebrating Women.

How are You going about doing that?

Who are you Celebrating and Why?

For me, there are Four Women who I have to give most of the Credit to for where I am Today.

The First Three I lovingly call my Three Mothers.

My Mom.

My Grandmother.

My Aunt.

They are the ones who raised me.

I learned how to be a Good Human from them.

Without their Guidance and Lessons, I would never be where I am today.

The Fourth Women is my Wonderful Spouse.

She is constantly by my side.

Supportive of my Goals.

Helps me Keep My Eyes Forward.

I'd be Lost without Her.

These are the Women that I Celebrate Today.

However, it is Not Enough to just Celebrate Women.

We have to Do More.

Do Better.

We need to Raise Up our Women.

That is another part of International Women's Day.

Working on Truly Honoring the Women We Care About by Treating Them as they were always Intended to Be.

Equals.

This is the thing about being Human...

All Flourishing Is Mutual.

We all Flourish Together...

Or We All Deteriorate Together.

Diminish Together.

Decay Together.

We, as Humans, Must Do Better.

All Women Deserve Better.

But here is something that goes through my head...

We have been Calling for Equality for quite some time.

Over 100 Years.

There has been some Progress that has been made over time, of course.

Yet... has it been Effective?

I do Not have an Answer to the Conundrum that I See...

But I think there is Wisdom in Considering the Question...

Are the Tactics we are using the Right Ones?

Are we Looking at this in the Right Ways?

One thing that I have seen in Many Good Causes over the Years is that the Cause is Wonderful, but the Strategies have Flaws.

Part of the Reason is because We are Human, with only so much Foresight.

Second and Third Order Consequences, and further, have a tendency to Play Out in Ways that we Originally Did Not Account For.

Ways We Could Never account For.

All Plans we Create end up Failing to some Extent, but we can Also Learn, Grow, and Adapt as we Continue Forth.

When I look at the Key Actions to Accelerate Equality according to the Official International Women's Day Website...

They are Good...

But I can't help but Feel that the Plan has not Adapted and Grown much in the Over 100 Years that we have been working toward these Goals.

So, perhaps the Best Way to Honor the Women We Care About...

Is to Ponder if there is a Better Path to the Goals we Seek.

Sometimes, the Fastest Way to Achieve Our Goals...

Is to See if the Path We Are on Still Makes Sense and is Valid...

Or if there are New Avenues that We Have Never Considered.

I Believe that there Ways we can Move Forward to Design a Future that looks Unlike Anything we have Imagined up until this point.

When we Think Inside the Box, the Box Remains Largely Unchanged.

Yet, if we Question the Box Entirely...

Is a Box the Right Shape?

Should we Consider a Cylinder?

Or Maybe it would be Better to Design a Sphere?

It could also be that a Three Dimensional Shape is also Thinking Too Small.

Maybe there is an Entirely New Shape that Exceeds what we've Considered Possible.

The Future We Seek is going to Require Us to Think in a Novel and Unprecedented Ways.

Are You Willing to Stretch the Limits of Your Imagination?

This is what it is going to take for us to Truly Honor the Women in our Lives.
