What We Must Do When Faced With An Overwhelming Amount Of Work
Understanding The Reality Of How To Overcome It All
Do you ever find yourself looking at a Gigantic List of Things that You Need to Do for Your Work?
I Do Too.
All the Time.
In the States, it is also Tax Weekend which means...
On top of any other Work that Needs to be Done...
You also much Submit All the Paperwork to the Government about How Much You Made in the Year to Determine if You Must Pay More Taxes or get a Tax Refund.
Now, I appreciate Taxes because I know that the Money, mostly, Goes Towards things our Communities Need.
But they can still be a Pain to Do.
I'd Much Rather be Focused on Other Priorities.
But there are Times where You Must Do what You Must Do.
Which brings us to Something that becomes Important for All People Who Seek to Accomplish a Lot in their Lives...
How Do You Face Having An Overwhelming Amount Of Work?
What Can You Do As It Piles Higher?
You Know...
Other than Collapsing in Stress with Tears Streaming Down Your Face.
The Very First Thing We Must Do...
Come to Terms with Reality.
We are Human.
This means there is Only So Much We Can Do At Once.
Technology can help us Accomplish More.
But at the End of it All, We are Still Human.
Which is Great in Many Ways.
I'd rather be Human than Anything Else.
But We have Limitations as Humans.
There will Always Only be So Much that We Can Effectively Do Within A Limited Amount of Time.
With this, we Come to the Second Reality.
There Will Always Be More To Do.
Always Be More than Can Be Done.
Even if we Complete the Lists We Create...
They Will Refill Quickly.
Eventually they will Refill to a Point Where there is More than Can Be Done.
It's Inevitable.
Combined, it means that we must Come to Understand that it is Normal and Alright to Feel like there is More To Do than Can Be Done.
It is Not Wrong to be Human.
But, once we Accept Reality, we must Create a Plan.
What is the Best Way to Plan Then?
First, You Must Split your List into Categories.
I like the Eisenhower Matrix for this.
It is a Two-By-Two Matrix.
On One Side, you have Urgent (or Time-Bound) and Not Urgent.
On the Other Side, you have Important and Not Important.
If something is Both Urgent and Important?
Do It First.
That is Why I have been Doing Taxes throughout the Day, and Why I am Writing Now.
Both of these are Time-Bound and Important to Finish.
Then, You will want have to Decided between Important and Not Urgent or Not Important but Urgent.
If Possible, I would try to get Others to do those Items that are Urgent by Not Important.
These are Usually the Items that Trip Us Up the Most because they Tend to be the Items that Hit Us Most Frequently.
So, if you "Always" Decide to Focus on the Not Important but Urgent?
The Many Important Things that are Not Urgent will get Pushed to the Side...
For some People Perpetually.
When people talk about what they Most Regret Not Doing on their Deathbeds?
It is Usually the Important but Not Urgent Things.
So, you want to Do "Everything" in Your Power to "Not" Push Them Off, and Find "Other" Ways to Accomplish the Urgent and Not Important.
Then, with the Last Category?
The Not Important and Not Urgent?
Get Rid of Them.
Focusing on them is a Waste of your Mental Energy, and is "Literally" Consuming Energy (Mg-ATP) that could Better be Used on Other Things.
If you Simply Get Rid of Them, then you can Focus Your Energy (Mg-ATP) Better!
You'll Discover a "Lot" of Relief by Removing Items from the Overwhelming List.
Take Control of Your Life.
Remember that "You" can Dictate the List.
It Does "Not" Need to Dictate Your Life.
Become the Master of Your Fate.
Now is Your Time.

If we Optimize our Psychophysiology…
We can Accomplish More with Less Stress.
Most People Keep Adding and Adding, but Getting Less.
Which is Due to this is as well.
Interestingly, sometimes Getting More Done is Not about Doing More.
